“Transcending the Blossom” Art Show at QCC on April 8

NOTES:   The Quinsigamond Community College/ARTSWorcester Art Gallery opens a new exhibit on Tuesday, April 8, with a display of paintings by local artist Laurie Atchue.  Her collection, titled, “Transcending the Blossom,” will be on display through June 30 at the QCC Administration Building Corridor Art Gallery, at 670 West Boylston Street.

The public is invited to attend the opening night reception on April 8 starting at 6 p.m. in Conference Room 123A. A gallery walk with the artist will be held from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Admission is always free, and regular viewing hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to  7 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

On display will be a collection of Atchue’s flower paintings, done with acrylics to magnify the flowers and background.
