Local “Energy Freedom Fighter” Gilles Labelle Coming to QCC

WORCESTER, Ma. –   Local businessman, environmentalist, and radio co-host, Gilles Labelle, will speak at Quinsigamond Community College on April 10 at 10am, to speak about transportation, energy and other environmental subjects.

Labelle will drive to campus in his new Toyota Camry Hybrid and allow the students to test drive, explore, investigate, and discuss the advantages of the hybrid vehicle.  Since April 2007, Labelle has co-hosted Energy Freedom Fighters on WCRN/830 AM Worcester/Boston. The weekly, one-hour show explores renewable, sustainable, and affordable energy methods; it reaches all of New England in its broadcast.

Labelle is a retired chemist and active environmentalist, and currently manages Westboro Toyota’s Hybrid Center of Massachusetts, the largest hybrid-automobile center east of the Rocky Mountains. He will be joining longtime QCC Professor Bob Gillies’ physics class for the morning on the 10th.
