QCC Rad Tech Students Take Second Place at “Buzz Bowl”

WORCESTER, Mass.  – Eight students making up the Quinsigamond Community College Radiologic Technology Team took second place at “Buzz Bowl,” at the annual conference of the Massachusetts Society of Radiologic Technologists April 26 & 27th in Westford, MA.

QCC competed against eight other Massachusetts radiologic technology schools.  The competition was conducted in a "Jeopardy" format, with questions of increasing difficulty and point value, and all questions pertained to a radiologic technology subject matter.  The QCC team won three straight games to advance to the semi-finals and ultimately earned second place overall.

Team members were students Georgina Njenga,  Mary-Ellen Kayer, Ahmed Kissi, Angelina Labossiere, all of Worcester;  Elizabeth Burke of Whitinsville; Stephanie Gjeltema  of Northbridge;  and Cindy Lenault  of Marlborough. They were coached by QCC faculty member Ronald Norton.

Professor Ronald Norton was also honored as the Florence Wakefield Lecturer for his contributions to the profession of radiologic technology and the Massachusetts Society of Radiologic Technologists.
