WORCESTER, Mass. – Quinsigamond Community College student-athlete Maurice Horton has been selected to compete in the NJCAA Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game in Kilgore, Texas.

The NJCAA Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Classic will be played at Kilgore College on Saturday, April 21.  Mo Horton is one of only 40 players selected nationwide from Division I, II, and III.  QCC is a member of Division III, Region 21.

The Classic, sponsored by New Balance, matches the ten best men’s basketball players from Division I competing against all stars from Region XIV.  Horton will be playing in the game pitting Division II players against Division III.

Horton, a sophomore 2007 All-American candidate, was an NJCAA third team All-American last season.  He led the Chiefs to a 28-7 record this season and a fifth place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament in Delhi, NY.  His team won the Division III, Region 21 Tournament Championship back on March 4, and he was named to the All-Tournament Team.

“We are very proud to have Mo represent QCC at this event,” Head Coach Jon Weiner stated.  “He has put in a lot of hard work and is very deserving of this honor.”
