Spring Lecture Series Begins at QCC

WORCESTER –   On February 14th, Quinsigamond Community College will welcome Dr. Nina Scott, Ph.D. as part of its spring “Distinguished Lecturer Series.”

Nina Scott received her B.A. from Wellesley College and her M.A. and Ph.D in Spanish from Stanford University.  She has taught at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst for 37 years and specializes in women’s literature, comparative literature of the Americas, and colonial Spanish American literature. She is also an avid art history and food culture enthusiast.

Scott’s lecture, titled, “Chocolate, Chile, and Fertile Sows,” will explore the transatlantic food exchange in the early years of colonial Spanish America.

The lecture is free and open to the public and will take place at QCC’s Harrington Learning Center at 2:00pm.
