WORCESTER – The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Breakfast Committee is pleased to announce the 22nd annual “Keeping the Dream Alive” Community Breakfast honoring the legacy and ideology of the late Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The event will take place at the Quinsigamond Community College Athletic Center, 670 West Boylston Street,
on Monday, January 15 at 8 a.m. Doors open at 7:00 a.m.

This year’s event will feature Speaker/Songstress Mary Taylor, who builds her messages through song and brings an extra special message in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King.  Born in Georgia and raised in Florida, Mary Taylor always knew she was destined to sing.  Mary started her career singing in the Mount Calvary Baptist Church choir in Riviera, Florida, but was soon performing as she grew up.  After relocating to Connecticut, Mary Taylor began to sing her brand of blues and later became the world’s “angel of soul.”  She always inspires audiences with her gifted voice.

Mary has a BS degree from Charter Oak State College in Connecticut, is an ordained minister, and currently serves as Youth Director and Minister at Sword of the Spirit Ministries in New Haven, Connecticut.  As a Hartford Conservatory trained dancer, Mary is Enrichment Instructor at the Hartford Classical Magnet School where she teaches dance and drill.  Her dance ministry enables girls to develop their creativity, awareness, and self-esteem through knowledge and accomplishment in the performing arts.

In addition, the Worcester Fire Department will present its Community Service Award, and Ms. Rachel Carter of the Henry Lee Willis Center will provide musical entertainment.

Tickets to the breakfast are $25 and must be purchased in advance. They can be obtained by calling Susan Laprade at 508-854-4368, or emailing susanl [at] qcc.mass.edu. by Wednesday, January 10th.
