WORCESTER –   The Quinsigamond Community College/ARTSWorcester Art Gallery opens a new exhibit on Tuesday, October 17 with a display of works by David Snay.  His collection, titled, “Close to Home,” will be on display through January 19, 2007 at the QCC Administration Building Corridor Art Gallery, at 670 West Boylston Street.

The public is invited to attend the opening night reception on October 17th starting at 6:00 p.m. in Conference Room 123A.  Admission is always free, and regular viewing hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Through black and white photography, Snay will share his impressions of the beauty in nature that resides in close proximity to his residence.

“The work I’m showing in this exhibit is all about the things I find close to home, within a few miles of my house,” states Snay.  “All prints except the astrophotography images are traditional Silver Gelatin prints.”

Interestingly, Snay’s background is software engineering, only discovering his desire to pursue his artistic interests later in life. He has received numerous local photography awards and his work has been displayed throughout Massachusetts.
