Diversity Show Features Works of Artist from Puerto Rico

WORCESTER –   In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Quinsigamond Community College/ARTSWorcester Art Gallery opens a new exhibit on Tuesday, October 3 with a display of works by Iris Alecia Velez Lanyon.  Her collection, titled, “A Woman’s Journey,” will be on display through October 27, 2006 at the QCC Administration Building Corridor Art Gallery, at 670 West Boylston Street.

The public is invited to attend the opening night reception on October 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00pm in Conference Room 107A.  Admission is always free, and regular viewing hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Iris is a well-established artist from Puerto Rico.  She will be displaying her works that reflect her beginnings in Puerto Rico and others that demonstrate the themes of diversity and unity.
