November 21, 2020 - Campus Exposure

Earlier this week, the College learned of two positive COVID-19 cases on campus. The College is following guidelines from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MA DPH) in our response to the exposure. Due to federal laws regarding private health information, we will not identify the individuals or their contacts with the broader community. All contact tracing is complete and close contacts (those who have been within 6 feet of an infected person for a total of 15 minutes or more) were notified. If you were not contacted, you are not considered to be at risk from this incident.

The College continues to take scientifically informed steps to ensure the cleanliness of our facilities. With cases of COVID-19 surging, we want to stress that it is important to adhere to State guidelines and remain vigilant by wearing a face covering at all times when on campus or any QCC location, maintain social distance, and practice good hygiene. These are our best defenses to limit the risk of community spread.

COVID-19 cases in MA and the country are rising. It is important to follow safety guidelines.

Please be reminded of the following:

  • Continue to work remotely as much as possible.
  • Wear a face covering at all times when around others in common spaces.
  • Stay home if you are sick or if you live with, or have been around anyone who is.
  • Before visiting campus, visit the COVID-19 self-checker if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.
  • If you are staying home due to symptoms, concerns, or diagnoses of Coronavirus/COVID-19 and have been on campus or a QCC location within the last 14 days, please complete the COVID-19 Exposure Health and Safety Intake Form. This form is strictly confidential. A confidential contact tracer will provide you with further information and guidance.

All employees and visitors to campus are required to wear a face covering that meets State guidelines while at any QCC location. Please bring and wear an appropriate face covering as needed. If you are unable to bring your own, or have misplaced your face covering, please contact Campus Police dispatch at 508.854.4221 for assistance, and they will provide one to you. Face Coverings are available between 8:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. (Please note that the face coverings provided from Public Safety are in limited supply so please only request one if you have no other means in which to secure your own.)
