November 19, 2021 - Medicat/Policy

As you all know from our September 2021 announcement, the Massachusetts Community Colleges’ system-wide COVID-19 vaccine verification requirement for students and employees will take effect this January.

Today, all 15 community college presidents are communicating an employee vaccination policy effective for our 15 colleges, which requires all employees to provide written proof of full vaccination status by January 3, 2022, absent an approved reasonable accommodation.

Our employee policy has been crafted in consultation with stakeholders across our colleges, and is being implemented to increase the health and safety of our learning and working environments in the face of a continued public health crisis.

To upload your vaccination record information, visit Medicat. The process is easy and can be accessed by your computer or mobile device through HealthySafeCampus.

If you are not vaccinated, please note that you will need to be vaccinated by January 3, 2022. In order to meet this deadline, you must receive all shots of your preferred COVID-19 vaccine by December 20, 2021. To help illustrate the time it takes to be considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 based on your preferred vaccination, QCC has created a Vaccination Timeline.

For accommodations, employees and staff should visit Medicat and search for the accommodation form by clicking on the "Forms" tab, then clicking on "Employee Accommodation Form for COVID-19.”

Print out the form, complete and sign it, and then upload the form into Medicat by clicking on the "Upload" tab at the top of the screen.  Select "COVID Accommodation Form" and upload.

Please Note: The accommodation form must be fully completed, in order to be reviewed. Forms that are missing information will not be reviewed.  Each request will be dealt with on an individual basis, through an interactive discussion.

If an employee is unable to access Medicat, please email covid19 [at] qcc.mass.edu.

As always, thank you for your hard work and commitment to our students.
