Sukhmani Pal, PhD

I am an assistant Professor of Psychology at QCC. I am from New Delhi, India and completed BA and MA in India. I came to the US 5 years ago to pursue PhD in Psychology from the University of Mississippi. Upon completion I was fortunate to take up a position at QCC. I currently teach Intro to Psychology and Research Methods. I have relevant experience teaching, conducting research and doing counselling. My research interests include Threat perceptions, prejudice and violence perceptions. My most recent project involved studying how perceptions of threat can lead individuals to be more prejudices towards Muslims, even if the threat perception is not related to Muslims. I further plan to study the impact of such prejudice and ways to reduce threat perceptions.
