Dr. Milagros Rosal is the Inaugural Vice Provost for Health Equity and the Imoigele P. Aisiku, MD Chair in Health Equity and Diversity at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and a Professor in the Division of Preventive and Behavioral Medicine, Department of Population & Quantitative Health Sciences. Dr. Rosal is a behavioral psychologist and translational and implementation researcher with a focus on health equity. Her research is in the areas of prevention and management of cardiometabolic disease risk. She is co-director of the CDC-funded UMass Worcester Prevention Research Center and has been principal investigator or co-leader of multiple research studies, most funded by the National Institutes of Health. Consistent with her interests in diversity and health equity, Dr. Rosal provides mentorship to students, post-docs and junior faculty from groups underrepresented in medicine, as well as individuals with clinical and research interests in health disparities/equity. Dr. Rosal has been a member of the Board of Directors of the YWCA Central Massachusetts since 2015 and was elected to the QCC Foundation Board of Directors in February 2021.
