Community Harvest Project, North Grafton, MA. 7/16/16
The Alpha Zeta Theta Chapter members volunteered at the Community Harvest Project in North Grafton, MA. On July 16th, we harvested 1,162 lbs of zucchini, summer squash, and cucumbers. That is almost 6,000 servings that are already out for delivery! All of the vegetables picked go to the Worcester County Food Bank and affiliated organizations to help those in need in our local community.
Honors in Action Project
As a part of becoming a Five Star Chapter, Phi Theta Kappa chapters need to complete an Honors in Action Project. The Honors in Action Project encourages students to work together on a research project and develop a project that impacts the community and the world around us. It enables students to address a substantial need in the community by developing a service project based on detailed research. Our chapter has been working diligently to come up with a project that will absolutely impact Global Perspectives.
Convoy of Hope
The Alpha Zeta Theta Chapter participated in Convoy of Hope in Worcester, MA on June 11, 2016. Convoy of Hope is a collaborative effort to bring hope to a city through free groceries, health screenings, job services, family portraits, haircuts, prayer, activities for children and more. As a part of our reading initiative to raise reading rates of children in Worcester, the Alpha Zeta Theta Chapter gave out over 4,000 children's books to local families with the help of donations from Worcester the City That Reads, the Worcester Public Library, and Quinisigamond Community College.
