To support and retain QCC students who are DTA (Department of Transitional Assistance) recipients, Counseling Services provides both academic services and full case management. Students complete an initial intake process, maintain monthly contacts and review childcare, academic and support issues on a semester basis. Each student has a contractual agreement with the DTA, which also is a confidentiality/release agreement for QCC Counseling Services to validate their school attendance.
This cooperative effort provides:
- The accountability required by the DTA
- The support services of QCC Counseling Services to assist these students to receive maximum benefits, advocacy and academic support
- A resource service that promotes the attainment of career, family and personal goals.
