Relationships With Other Colleges/Universities

Quinsigamond has formal agreements with a number of local and regional higher education institutions. These agreements clearly identify (or articulate) which courses should be taken at QCC to assure easy transfer of credits. Should you be worried if there is no formal agreement with the college you want to attend? Not necessarily. Typically colleges grant transfer credit for QCC college level courses which are passed with a "C" or higher grade and which fit that college's curriculum. If you plan for your transfer, you should have little trouble.

What are they?

Formal contracts between QCC and other educational institutions clearly identifying (or articulating) which courses will transfer.

What are the benefits to the student?

  • Takes the guesswork out of identifying courses which transfer to the specific institution
  • Changes transfer credit evaluation from something the receiving institution "grants" to something to which the student is entitled.

Where do I get copies?

Your Academic Advisor should have copies of the ones related to your Academic Progam. . If not, call Dan Daly at 854-4277 or drop by room 162A.

Why don't we have more of them?

Articulation agreements are most valuable in disciplines where disagreements often arise over the sequencing or prerequisites for specific courses. In areas such as Liberal Arts, where many roads to Truth are recognized, formal agreements are less important. In other areas such as Nursing, where the sequencing of courses is hotly debated, they are more important.
