Why study ESL at QCC?
The ESL credit program offers a first-rate academic ESL curriculum to prepare students for college study in all subject areas.
- Interactive ESL software in the Communications Skills Center extends studies beyond the classroom.
- Free tutoring is available for all ESL students in the new QCC Harrington Learning Center.
- Unlike most other ESL programs, QCC students can receive some college credit for ESL courses.
What is special about QCC's ESL credit program
- ESL reading, writing, note-taking, listening, and speaking courses are offered at three levels.
- Grammar is taught in context in all of the ESL courses.
- ESL courses are offered in the fall, spring, and summer sessions.
- ESL courses are offered days and evenings.

Level 1: Courses are for ESL students whose English skills are at a high beginning level.
Level 2: Courses are for ESL students whose English skills are at an intermediate level.
Level 3: Courses are for ESL students whose English skills are at a high intermediate or advanced level. |
*Must be a non-native speaker of English; have a high school diploma or GED, and appropriate placement score.
How to apply?
- Begin the process by calling the QCC Advising and Assessment Center at 508-854-4308 to set up an appointment to take the ESL placement test.
- After taking the placement test, meet with an advisor to choose your courses.
