President's Climate Commitment

Goals

• Conduct a detailed emissions inventory and report the results by September 15, 2008.
• Reduce green house gas consumption levels (from 2002 levels) by 25 percent in 2012, 40 percent by 2020 and 80 percent by 2050.
• Reduce energy consumption levels below those reached in 2004 by 20 percent in 2012 and 35 percent in 2020.
• Procure 15 percent of annual electricity consumption from renewable resources by 2012 and 30 percent by 2020.
• Increase the College's use of bio heat products by 10 percent in 2012.
• All new construction and major renovations will meet Mass. LEED Plus green building standards.
• Reduce potable water use, compared to 2006, by 10 percent on 2012 and 15 percent in 2020.
• Produce a detailed climate action plan to meet these goals by September 15, 2009.
