Advanced Placement

If you took Advanced Placement (AP) courses in high school and scored appropriately on the AP examination, you are eligible for credit at Quinsigamond. AP examinations are offered in 29 subject areas at various high schools. Through AP, students can take demanding college-level courses while still in high school and satisfy certain required college courses at the same time. “CR” appears on your college transcript for credits received through Advanced Placement. Generally, students earn between three and six credits for AP courses. There is no charge to have your credit put on your QCC transcript. Credit does not count toward residency requirement. Some program restrictions apply.

If you are interested in earning credit for Advanced Placement, these are your next steps:

  • Contact Academic Support Services.
  • Provide an official copy of your high school transcript with the AP course notation.
  • Provide an official copy of the results from the College Board.
  • You will be asked to complete credentialing forms.
  • After your credit has been recorded, you will receive official notification from QCC’s Registrar’s Office.
