PTK Participates In Many Community Events

July 2016

Phi Theta Kappa members from QCC have had a busy summer volunteering for different community projects.

PTK has been volunteering at the Community Harvest Project. On Saturday, July 16, the group harvested 1,162 lbs of zucchini, summer squash, and cucumbers, which is almost 6,000 servings that are already out for delivery. CHP is working to build an engaged and healthier community by bringing volunteers together to grow fresh fruits and vegetables for hunger relief. There is one more date to sign up for, on August 13, so if you would like to volunteer, stop by the PTK office, Room 154A to find out more.

The honor society kicked off its Honors In Action on June 4. We are on our way becoming a five-star chapter once again.

The chapter will hold its annual Fall Cookout on September 28. There will be food, music, raffles and much more. All proceeds will benefit PTK’s Live and Learn Greenhouse. Watch your QCC email for updates.

The annual Bowl-A-Thon will be Sunday, November 6, at the AMF Bowling Lanes, 101 Southbridge St., Auburn, from noon to 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $25, which includes two hours of bowling, shoes, pizza, cold beverage and dessert. All proceeds will benefit Lilly, Worcester Public Library’s Bookmobile!

PTK will be participating in the Relay for Life on Friday, September 9, at 6:00 pm at Lemansky Park in Auburn. If you would like to walk or donate please stop by the PTK Office Room 154A.

Watch for more information on the Live and Learn Greenhouse coming soon!!!
