Dean Brown to Retire After More Than 40 Years at QCC

June 2016

James Brown, Dean of Public Service and Social Sciences, is retiring after more than 40 years at Quinsigamond Community College. An event was held in his honor on June 16, an annual “Happy Holidays Hall Event,” as a send-off. He enjoyed celebrating his annual holiday hall party.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for helping me celebrate my retirement. It had to be one of the highlights of my career. It was so nice to chat with so many of my QCC friends, and in many cases go down memory lane, which in my case is a long one,” Dean Brown said. “As I have said, I never minded coming to work and working with the QCC family in providing opportunity for students to better their lives in one way or another. I was most appreciative of the outpouring of kind words from everyone and all the cards and tokens of appreciations.  I leave with both a heavy heart in retiring, but with the hope that my next journey will be as heart felt and promising as my QCC journey.”
