WORCESTER, MA—January 22, 2018—On Sunday, January 28, Quinsigamond Community College will once again be a host site for the Commonwealth’s annual FAFSA Day Massachusetts. This free event provides students and their families with assistance in helping to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). FAFSA is a federally-required form that every student must fill out annually if they are trying to obtain federal financial aid for higher education. This includes grants, loans and Federal Work Study. Over 30 locations across the state will host FAFSA Day events.

QCC’s FAFSA Day event will take place from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. on the college’s main campus (670 West Boylston Street, Worcester), in the Harrington Academic Computing Center, located in the Administration Building, room 379.

Anyone who is applying for financial aid for the 2018-2019 academic year is encouraged to attend a FASFA Day Massachusetts event. At QCC, over $9 million in financial aid is annually awarded, with over 50 percent of students receiving financial assistance.

“If you have not yet completed a 2018-2019 FAFSA, please consider attending QCC’s FAFSA Day. QCC Financial Aid Counselors will be available to assist students with accurately completing the FAFSA and answering any financial aid questions they might have. We will also have Spanish speaking staff members on-hand to also offer assistance as needed,” said QCC’s Assistant Director of Financial Aid, Robert Loconto, adding that QCC’s priority filing deadline for grant assistance is April 1, 2018.

In order to successfully complete the FAFSA, parents and students are asked to bring as much of the following information as possible (students born before January 1, 1995 do not need to bring parental information).

  • FSA ID - both student FSA ID and Parent FSA ID (fsaid.ed.gov). If a FSA ID is still needed, sign up 48 hours prior to FAFSA Day.
  • Social Security Number
  • Alien Registration Card (if not a U.S. citizen)
  • Divers License Number (if available)
  • 2016 Federal Tax Return
  • 2016 W-2 or Year-End Pay Stub
