WORCESTER, Mass. – On Thursday, May 10 the Quinsigamond Community College baseball field will turn into a launching pad for two dozen model rockets, to be launched as part of a physics course lab experiment.

Professor Bob Gillies of the Electronics and Mathematics Department will have his Physics class assemble and launch a set of solid fuel model rockets on the campus of QCC.  His students will be required to make predictions prior to launch, estimating how high the rockets will ascend and for how long they will stay in flight, among other calculations.

Weather permitting, the class and college audience will meet at the baseball field at 8:30 a.m. with students set to begin launching rockets by 8:45 a.m.
