WORCESTER, Mass. –   Quinsigamond Community College will again host the Worcester Poetry Showcase on Wednesday, April 11, 2007.  This second annual showcase begins at 7 p.m. in room 109 on the ground floor of the Harrington Learning Center on QCC’s campus.

Winners of the Fall 2006 poetry contests in Worcester will read their winning entries, and a special segment of this year’s showcase will be a Worcester Youth Slam demonstration of “slam poetry” – a unique form of quick poetry writing judged by members of the audience.  Young writers ages 13 to 18 who have participated in the local slam competition will perform.  Team members will represent Worcester at the Brave New Voices Festival in San Jose, CA from July 17-22, 2007.

The Poetry Showcase is free and open to the public.  Refreshments will be provided. For further information, contact Dale LaBonte at 508-854-7472 or dlabonte [at] qcc.mass.edu
