WORCESTER – Quinsigamond Community College President Gail Carberry and American International College President Vincent Maniaci jointly announce the establishment of an admissions partnership between the colleges.

Beginning in January 2007, Quinsigamond Community College students may participate in the “QCC-AIC Joint Admissions Partnership.”   The partnership guarantees QCC students, who are interested pursuing a bachelor’s degree at AIC upon graduating from Quinsigamond, admission into American International.  The student must be considered full-time and maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or higher while enrolled at Quinsigamond, in order to be eligible for automatic admission to AIC.

Further motivating for QCC students are the scholarships available to them from American International, should they meet the academic requirements of the program.  Additional financial aid will be offered to students who excel academically and maintain a 3.5 or higher grade point average while at QCC. “We are especially pleased to establish this unique partnership, which will provide a great opportunity for Worcester County students to begin studies at Quinsigamond, then transition seamlessly to AIC with some financial incentives,” stated Peter Miller, Vice President of Admissions at American International.

When a Quinsigamond student signs up for the joint admission program, he/she will also have access to a variety of AIC student services, including academic advising and career counseling.  Pauline Mortenson, Director of Transfer Admissions at QIC, will further mentor QCC students on their course of study to ensure they are following the program.

“We are thrilled that our students will be able to participate in this exciting transfer opportunity with American International,” QCC President Gail Carberry added.  “AIC has provided yet another channel for our students to further their studies upon graduating from Quinsigamond.”

For more information on the “QCC-AIC Joint Admissions Partnership,” students can visit the Admissions Office at the Harrington Learning Center on QCC’s campus.
