QCC Professors Recognized in “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers”

Release Date:
10/20/2006

WORCESTER –   Quinsigamond Community College professors Sharon Gillies, John Lopriore, Roger Meservey and Ken Wong were recognized in the latest edition of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers for their overall teaching excellence.

“Indeed, this is wonderful news!” said QCC President Gail Carberry, as she gave her “kudos” to the four professors. “This is a special honor for our faculty.”

The nomination process for this recognition program is unique, in that students are asked to honor teachers who have made a difference in their lives and contributed to their future.  One or more of a teacher’s current or former students who themselves have been listed in a “Who’s Who” student-edition or The National Dean’s List edition, are eligible to nominate a professor.  A community member or peer who recognizes a teacher’s outstanding achievements can also provide a nomination for the award.

The four QCC professors are:  Sharon Gillies, a Laboratory Technician and professor in Electronics and Computer Systems;   John Lopriore, a professor of Biology;  Roger Meservey, also a professor of Biology;  and Ken Wong, a History professor and the Coordinator of the Liberal Arts Program and Social Sciences.

Published annually, Who's Who Among America's Teachers allows students and staff to show their appreciation for a teacher’s efforts and excellence.  QCC is proud to have four professors listed in the 2006 edition.
