PowerPoint Remotes

PowerPoint Remote

PowerPoint remotes are primarily used to control PowerPoint slideshows, allowing an instructor to move about the classroom more freely while advancing, rewinding or temporarily “blanking out” of the projected slideshow.

While designed for Microsoft PowerPoint specifically, they will also work with full screen Adobe Acrobat presentations in the PDF format, as well as Apple’s Keynote and some cloud-based presentation services such as Prezi.

Faculty that intend to make regular use of PowerPoint remotes are encouraged to purchase or obtain their own remotes, as Media Services has limited supplies that are distributed on a first-come-first-served basis.

If securing your own PowerPoint remote is not an option, you may opt to sign one out on a per-semester basis using our Online Equipment Checkout form.

All Media Services provided laptops have PowerPoint remotes available, so those who know ahead of time when filing a Media request may want to make note of their intent to use the PowerPoint remote.
