Yvonne Aponte, QC/QA Manager, Transcore
In 2008, Yvonne earned a Computer Information Systems-Programming Option Associates Degree. In 2010, she graduated with a second associate’s degree in Computer Information Systems (concentrating on database administration). She maintained a 4.0 GPA while earning two degrees , choosing to attend QCC “to advance her career, because of its convenient location and affordability.” According to Yvonne, “…the large selection of online classes suited my busy schedule. In nearly every class, whether it was Public Speaking, Human Relations in Organizations, Systems Analysis & Design, Advanced Technical Writing or a programming language, I learned something applicable to my past and current positions.”
Since 2005, Yvonne Aponte has worked in Auburn for Transcore, an IT company supporting the transportation industry through Intelligent Transportation Systems, Electronic Toll Collection, Satellite Communications and Freight Matching. “I started out as a data entry clerk in 2000 and was promoted to a Surety Bond Coordinator. With the knowledge I gained at QCC as well as additional technologies I taught myself, I was able to assist other departments with their daily processing workload.” This led to her promotion to Commercial Department Supervisor in 2005. Her drive for improvements resulted in the promotion in 2009 to QC/QA Manager.
